Sermon Outline

This evening, Pastor Johnston began a two part message which he will conclude next Sunday morning.

Intro - The hardest and most critical part of a relay race is passing the baton. Little else matters if that part fails. The same is true in life. Jacob realized this and took great care in seeking to pass his wisdom and faith to the next generation. Let's see how he did.

Conc. - An old saying says, "The apple does not fall far from the tree",Generlly our posterity will turn out a lot like their parents (us). Someone has paraphrased the scriptures to say, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and go that way yourself"! That is so important in successfully "passing the baton".
