Intro - Jacob died at the age of 147. His life was lengthy and eventful, but death comes to all. Hebrews 9: 27. I think it is significant that the Holy Spirit takes 14 verses to describe what happened to Jacob's body. Surely there are some valuable lessons for us..

• He was Buried - Vs. 13-14

Concl. Jacob's body was embalmed, carefully moved and lovingly buried in his family's cave. The burial of God's saints recorded in Scriptures suggest great value of the individual, respect for the body. and anticipation of the final resurrection. Clearly, for the genuine Christian, the best is yet to come! "Absent from the body, present with the Lord"! Are you ready to meet the Lord?
