Sermon Outline
Intro. - Psalm 116: 15 says, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints". Do we feel that way about death?. To non-Christians, death can only be an enemy, because they will be separated from God in eternal torment. For believers, death can ultimately be a friend that opens the door to entering the glorious presence of God. As we conclude our study of Genesis (Book of Beginnings), let's notice 6 things about the Life and Death of Joseph.
"DEATH OF A SAINT"
Genesis 50: 22-26
- Precious in Quantity - v. 22
- Precious in Quality - v. 23
- Precious in Reality - v. 24
- Precious in Identity - v. 25
- Precious in Finality - v. 26a
- Precious in Dignity - v. 26b
Conclusion - Genesis begins with God creating life; it ends with man experiencing death. Man's sin brought physical death into the world. God's love and mercy made eternal life possible for those who believe in Him. Joseph was a believer, which took the sting out of his death. His death was precious to God, because God was precious to Joseph. Is the Lord precious to you? Are you one of His saints?
